Clutch and Flywheel

So what’s everyone using…

Dave’s stuff looks interesting over at Seriously as does the Hanger111 Fidanza kit. I use a Fidanza flywheel already but have been advised to stay clear because of my build spec (disengaging problems not on all but a few) and maybe go TRD which Fensport seem to have the monopoly on and price as such! Then again I haven’t got the Fidanza clutch so maybe Hanger111 is the way to go. I managed to F— -p my Helix paddle clutch so don’t really want another (they are not to blame let it be said). I’m just interested really who’s got what especially you boys with the really Gay power  just kidding Jeez

I use an Exedy uprated clutch, been in there since I reached 300hp, but to be honest I think it is getting to the end of it’s useful life :frowning:

Dont know Jonny??? paid JSR some money,(did a lot of that this year !!!) spent 2 days in the workshop under the guidance of Wayne to fit new flyweel and clutch. All very good strong etc. only slight problem was flywheel had been supplied without champher so starter motor would sometimes not engage, usually at most inappropriate moments, like pit exit after mandatory pit stop during Donny race (no panic really !!!) so it had to come back out to have a champhered flywheel fitted. Worked perfectly then and has taken some serious pounding racing at Spa and Brands.

Sure John or Wayne will tell you what I got for my money ??

Cheers Jonny I know JSR fitted the Helix clutch and me the Fidanza
(oops choose not fitted myself) the flywheel. I only ask as its just general feedback I’m after. The TRD seems where it’s at on newcelica.org just want some wear and tear feedback from here. Don’t be shy people just post…

I use ACT clutch and Fidanza flywheel and have never had an issue…

Destroyed a helix at 300 bhp … looking at options now .

Yea Manny was saying about going TRD yet Dave at DD was saying he’s never had an issue. Mine’s still going strong so will probably go with both Fidanza clutch and flywheel. Cheers Frank, you too John.

I will say Manny and Dave have been sooooo helpful, real credit to them, good good people

Which one though? Organic or cerametallic paddle?

Organic …
I spoke to the tech bloke at Helix and he said the limit for the organic was around 190lb/ft …
mid engine and lots of grip is not good for clutches :frowning:

Even Jonny Fox uses a ceramatalic one in his snail.

2 x oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh !!! :astonished:

It must be national Fox hunting day !!!

Snail my arse

Just a couple of bhp shy of 300 and running the Fidanza clutch and lightweight flywheel with no problems - all fitted by H111.

Cool That’s the way I’m going, cheers.

I’m sure with 125 bhp he’ll be just fine !

The clutch takes A LOT of bedding in!

What brand is the lightweight flywheel used in the Cup260? TRD?

When i test drove a Cup260, it was its free-revving nature that impressed me most…
