At Bedford - 1hr ‘practice’ followed by timed laps with a how big are my bllock online leader board

Genius or recipe for disaster ???

Discuss …

Good job it’s at Bedford as you won’t get insured for a trackday for that

yeah, timing is going to make insuring troublesome. Any smash will end up in tears.

However love the idea of a top gear leader board for general punters, looks fun.

I’ll be the lemon at the bottom

Actually this isn’t terribly different to a MSA sprint or Hill Climb. Even for an MSA sprint event/competition, you can turn up with your car and a completed licence application and enter the event. No driving instruction or tests, no accidental damage insurance for the car (unless you have previously arranged competition car insurance of course) and off you go in your first ever ‘flat out’ competition. See page 134 para H.26.1.2 of this year’s Blue Book if you don’t believe me.

Of course , MSV almost certainly are not running these under a MSA permit but provided the organisers have the right sort of indemnity it is up to the ‘competitor’ to look after his car. It is never the organiser’s problem to arrange accidental damage insurance for a competing car but they will have third party cover for any public liability claim.

So, if everybody is up for it then there is no reason why they cannot do it but, of course, no RTA insurance provider is likely to grant cover under a normal RTA policy as they might do for track days.

Just come Karting on Saturday 3pm Whilton Mill, 3 spaces left. This time next week you could have been crowned the 2011 Exiges.com champion. :sunglasses:

EFA

I’d love to come karting but I’m down south this weekend (and the engines aren’t big enough for me (my bulk) to show my true comprtitiveness!)

LOL

There’s always next year Mike!

This Club MSV thing shows nothing. It would be better if they had an old Viva or something that everyone had to use rather than your own car.

It looks like the results from the first event are up with a couple of Exiges in there keeping the side up :

clicky

I’m sure some people here could put themselves near the top of that list should they wish. It could be a laugh if a few of us had a punt at some point…

I might be up for that - the event at the end of Sept looks possible - anyone else fancy a go ???

Im deffo up for it at some stage.

I could be dragged along - only question is would I get a lap in before being black flagged :frowning:

Look at Condor lining up the excuses already  …hmm this could get a bit too competitive.

LOL - you saw right through that one !

I went. Was good fun. Track is VERY different to normal as they cone it properly so you cant nick any curbs as all on use any run off areas (like onto the pit straight for example)

I am pretty quick around Bedford normally but sadly muffed my timed lap pretty badly! cracked under the pressure!

I had my Clio 172cup there as well and did the opposite and REALLY hooked up a lap and got exactly the same time as in the Exige! 1.26.3 sadly I just touched a cone so the lap wont ever appear. Will definately do it again!

sounds fun…any more exiges are going so that i may go and watch

sounds fun, might have a go myself once my cars sorted anf if I can do more than 200 yards without being black flagged!!!

Keep your gob shut and you should be fine!!
