Close ratio Gearbox

Anyone done this on their S2?

Having done all the handling bits on my 2004 car, I’ve started looking at power gains (I have the Lotus sport ECU for drivability).

So, has anyone fitted the closer ratio’s to get better/more flexible in gear/mid range performance, & what do you think?

('cause more power ain’t an option via the factory route )

What the car needs is a taller final drive not shorter…and I haven’t found one…

Get real Dude, you live in the land of straight roads. Even ya canyons are like our motorways

PS Any progress re flight tickets etc?

Yeah thats right straight roads, not those gay switch backs you guys have I bet you all hold hands while in a traffic circle… I’ve got a few dates lined up just have to figure out where the hell I’m going as I’ve never been in the UK…

Not sure what you’re aiming at there

All I know about the c/r gearbox is that first is taller, & 8000rpm in sixth will give 144mph (& the shorter spread 2-5), as oppose to the theoretical 161mph 6th/8000rpm in the standard gearbox

Tim download the latest Hot version Japanese vid via torrent. There is an exige in there with the close ratio box. Give quite a good impression

With a taller final you would not be buzzing the engine down the hwy at 4,000rpm/80mph… I also find myself hovering at 7,500rpm’s in the twisties when 6,500rpm’s would be better with the supercharger’s power band…
Now I do have a taller sixth gear and a Quaiff LSD so at 80mph I’m at 3,500rpm, I can max out at 8,000 rpm’s but it does get a little spooky with the Exige’s short wheel base…
