chuck a V10 in it

V10 exige

I guess the sun is over the yard arm…

“Made the first real compaction study yesterday, now is certainly the engine 5cm into the interior. Rear frame is moved back 13cm, then the gearbox may fit within the body.
Unfortunately, I get very severe driveshaft angles. With the engine moved 5cm and the rear frame in this position gives the drive joint angles of 19 degrees. Does anyone know how many degrees you can have? Are not looking for 25000 mil life but they should not break on iaf 1000mil and not have too high losses.”

The phrase ‘gonna need a bigger boat’ springs to mind :astonished:

Cool man. What engine is that?? What gearbox are you going for?

The drive shafts need to be straight. I would say anything over 4 or 5 degrees and you are asking for trouble. The more torque you put into them the less the angle should be. Every production car on the planet has absolutely straight drive shafts. The joints are only really there to deal with suspension movement and cornering etc.
