Chris Harris on Cars

Love the S1 comment;

Yup lol at the S1 comment. I’m sure we’ve all got some munched gussets eh :wink:

Have to agree with his comments about the electronic aids. I don’t have Monkeys skills but I too wanna be in control of the car. Where’s the fun in mashing the carpet out of every corner and letting the electronic hand guide you round…

Still, looks a great car and I hope it does really well.

Yeah, it looks good I reckon. But i’m with Harris and Ben, I want to be the thing making the decisions in a fun track car.

Does the switch everything off give you this? Is this standard across the range?

1st review I’ve seen/read and really pleased to see how positive he was about the car. GT3 performance comparisons bode well but it will be interesting to see what the average GT3 owner would think about the space in an Exige and whether they would swap.

A bit disappointed that in 12 mins I didn’t really get that much info from him and I thought the interview with Matt Becker was a complete waste of an opportunity to get some real insights.

Anyone know how many they are expecting to produce/sell per year?

Probably but for me you’re paying for it whatever. Honestly though, I guess it’s necessity to sell a car like this.

I look at this as a fun trackday car but thats driven by my subjective needs. For many this will be purchased without any intent of it seeing a circuit. I reckon proportionally the number of tracked S3 will decline when compared to s2 and defo compared to s1. The pure trackday market is just too small.

Just reading Pistonheads and to quote Dan Trent (PH journo):

“ABS, HBA and EBD remain on at all times, no matter what you’ve selected.”

Does the ride height look really tall, especially if compared to an S1?

Im really liking this … I can see the sense in all the electronic aids, especially for wet road use.

Seems you can turn traction control off but not the clever brake bits … which also makes sense.

I do hope Lotus see thsi through as I have a feeling it will be the last true “Exige” … if I was UK based I would be considering one.
