Folks,
I was always of the impression my car was Chrome Orange - until someone with an s2 the colour of an Orange told me his was Chrome orange and mine was “Burnt Orange”.
Looking on image search shows S1 Exiges that look like mine, and also ones that look more orange. Was there multiple shades? All the S2s seem to be the less subtle, less pearlescent shade.

And here shown with the S2 car I mentioned next tot he guy’s shorts (a few cars up the row).
I never heard of an Exige S1 in Burnt Orange but with Lotus you never know 
. Chrome Orange does change a lot depending on the light. Especially the glittering effect is only visible in bright sunlight.
In any other light the colour just looks flat. Get a ‘Certificate of Provenance’ from the Lotus factory for your car and check if the colour code is B25.

Sparkling Chrome Orange:
Aside from chrome orange on the S1 Lotus also offered Lava Orange, which had less metallic fleck but was also pearlescent and changed dramatically under different lighting.
I think its Chrome or if not I have no idea.
It started out Norfolk Yellow so I cannot check.
Another possibility?

B25, Chrome Orange
B84, Lava Orange Pearlescent
