Seem that I’ve now got two cars with cheese for gearboxes.
The Clio 200 4th gear synchros have gone. Car has only done 14k miles, and I’m basically running it around town, so its hardly ever into 4th.

Very frustrated/angry as its only a couple of months out of warranty. Will be speaking to Renault Customer Services once the dealer confirms the problem in the new year.

Arrrgh.

Ouch.

From a few web searches seems to be a weak point on the 197 and 200. We’ll see. On the plus side second hand boxes are cheaper than for the Exige if it came to that.
