Charge Air Duct from PPA

Was just searching for some data on PPA material ( daily job ) and came across an article about RED Racing who have replaced the cast alloy Charge air ducts on the Exige S with a PPA ( plastic ) version.

Weight saving is 50% (dont know the oriinal weight) and the heat soak will be less - interesting was the fact the pipe needs to be rated for 170 degree C peak temperature …

Mine are made from mandrel bent ally tube, I suspect they would be a similar weight, Proalloy have the paterns for them but no idea of price.

interesting - they must have spent the best part of 50K Euro making a tool and welding the two halves together !!

Contacted Geary to see if they would be doing anything similar but the answer was it would be too expensive.

Are lotus selling the new 260Cup versions?
