Chaps, I’m trying to type this on my iPhone which is slightly frustrating, but more anon…
I’m getting to the stage where the Titans have been nothing but problematic to say the least. The car is running great at the mo apart from its 1800rpm idle(!), but is still a decent powerhouse with its Scholar 1.9 donk.
I’ve been on to Bernard Scouse and have decided to go down the Jenvey route and use one of Bernard’s airbox’s. I also intend to fit the upgraded S2 throttle cable (Teflon lined and discussed on here and seloc) and remove the IACV.
All advice and ANY guidance will be massively appreciated, particularly as I’ll be doing the work myself in the garage. I’d particularly like to know if my car will run properly on start up after removal of the IACV and as I don’t have any software, WILL it run well enough to get me to a RR tuner who is Emerald literate.
The S2 throttle cable mod was pioneered by me and back in the day of throttle cables it was one of the best mods I ever did. I think my thread had all of the part numbers you need, so go for it.
The Direct to Head Jenveys are also a great mod. Pretty easy to fit, although you are going to need a throttle balancer to get them set up correctly.
Your map will need tweaking to optimise it, especially the cold start without a valve, but Dave Walker probably has a zillion of these maps, that I am sure he will let you have, if you give him a call. (if you want to speak to Dave, make sure you call as early as possible in the morning)
Dave has a throttle balancer as well, so can do it when he does the mapping. I also have a balancer that I dont mind lending you, if you let me have your address, I will put it in the post. It will be a lot easier to get running nicely if the pairs of throttles are balanced nicely.
