Changing Clutch/flywheel

How big of a job is it to change the clutch and flywheel in the Exige S?

I’ve taken the gearbox out in my old VX220 several times, and I managed to get it down to an art. In the vx220 I kept the engine instu and clam on, but removed bother lower wishbone, loosened the engine mounts and slid the box out underneith.

Is it the same in the Exige, or will I need to remove the clam and engine? Just trying to weigh up if I can be bothered to do it myself…

Sounds similar, removed nearside wishbones, mounts. Still a fair old job. Gbox is heavy if you don’t have ramps etc. (47kg one handed bench press).

just pm you, dont know if that helps

Just what I need - Thanks.

need anymore info just say as will copy and paste it all 2 u

Easy - the bit I don’t understand is why you have to remove the wishbone? Not that I have done it - yet, just thinking for the future.

That would be useful
Cheers JK

The n/a lower wishbone fowls the gearbox when lowering out the bottom of the car.

I previously have used an engine hoist through the top of the engine bay to support and lower the gearbox out the bottom of the car - saves doing one handed bench press

Look at your emails sent you the sevice manual. hope it helps

Cheers James - just got it.

No probs, glad to help.
