changes to 2010 spec

guys, it was clear on my first outing to Donny that I need to ‘man up’ LOL, my breaking was inaccurate but as I gained in confidence I became conscious my brakes were fading at times. I’m running the ‘sold as’ set up. what would be the best upgrade to accompany the growing of balls necessary to negotiate corners?!!!

Hi Speadfreak
I run the standard 2 pot break set up with EBC Ultimax discs and Carbone Lorraine RC5+ Pads.
I went to SPA Francorchamps last week and between me and Jules my other half we clocked 220miles during the day 2hour of which was dry running, and I would say were both relatively quick drivers, and we had no hint of fade all day.
The only thing I will do is fit some larger 304mm ally Bell discs AP or Alcon to the front at some point as I think a bit more brake force could be nice.
I think 4 pots are unnecessary, to me they are too powerful and brake modulation is reduced, giving you more of and on/off switch than a pedal. But 4pots do look cool so maybe that’s a consideration as well
At the end of the day you pay’s your money and takes your choice

thanks, great advice, its appreciated. i’m booked to go to Spa in Aug, can’t wait.

In the wet lol maybe Marcus, but in the dry 4 pots rock mate. I’d also look to blame the build up of cag as everything seemed ok after Silverstone.

Matt I’m not a fan of Pagits which you’re running. I have Performance Friction pads, AP 4 pots on the front, SRF break fluid and braided hoses (all common break upgrade stuff). It’s not broke, so doesn’t need fixing…it’s an epic set up imho buddy. Std rears, but running same pads.

You need to grow some massive balls before august, last week was my first time at SPA and I don’t think it helped that it was wet it the morning.
But SPA is all about commitment and massive balls, but boy is it rewarding when you hook it all up

I’m rubbing fertilizer on them now, and will do for the next 4 months! Gonna be masssssssive! hehe

trust me, the 2 things you have to change is the brake fluid and the front pads, after that you should not get any fade on 20 minute stints again, I would suggest Motul RBF 600 as good as SRF but none of the grief, then pads, well you will only find out what you like by trying, but I think all will agree to steer clear of RS14’s unless your car is track only, other than that performance friction carbon lorraine or RS42’s will be ok, when you get good enough and those are ruined ten spend some big money if you feel the need.

You will ‘BREAK’ into lots of bits if you dont ‘BRAKE’ or leave your ‘BRAKING’ too late with your ‘BRAKES’
