For the sake of clarity, you need to know that “aes” is Mrs Scuffham. Therefore when she refers to “Simon’s phone”, she means Simon Scuffham’s phone.
Below are quotes from a number of posts on this forum, by Simon Erland, all dated 12th July 2004 ie over 12 months ago
[color:“blue”]1.As far as I’m aware there are precisely 9 Ks out there that have been properly built and toleranced so far.
As a point of interest, I have built four engines for friends all of which have been properly toleranced and totally faultless over 18 months minimum on the track ,running as much as 227 bhp.
A totally blue printed engine with 230/240bhp with all the best bits and high tec coatings dry sump etc would cost about 5grand plus labour. That would have everything except a steel crank because there isn’t one I would use at the moment-there will be,but the iron crank is up to everything except slicks and short dog boxes.

Yes, that was quite obvious and good on her for sticking up for her hubby! However, when it comes to the “vociferous” stakes Mr Scuffham takes some beating. She should ask him why he’s barred from posting on here for a start!

I do, but clearly you do not (was somewhat before you graced this forum with your presence)
in short, I believe he pointed out that some Exige owners had more money than sense (in relation to having engines re-built), this would have appeared to have touched a sore spot with some individuals.
Also, from what I remember, the person that was actually the subject of the thread at the time latter personally thanked Simon for his advice and help, and was only sorry that he had not taken his posts in earlier before he got presented with a huge bill for his engine. Because of all this, he then sold the car and brought a VX.
This to my mind is not a great advert for the advice and help offered here sometimes, somewhat ironic when you consider what is being slated around here at the moment.
The subject of Simon Scuffham not posting here is going off-topic. Those who were here at his time of banning will remember why. Those who weren’t, won’t know what they’re missing. So either way, it’s a non-topic.
Now… Will those who are in contact with SimonE let us know why he’s not posting currently ?
If it were a case of “he’s on holiday” I’m sure someone would have said by now… do we assume it’s just a case of dummy spitting ?
While it may be off topic, the fact that any discussion of k series tuning on here always seems to result in SimonS being mentioned/refered to/slagged off indicates that the topic is incomplete without his input so by going off topic and resolving the Scuffham issue we could actually make this topic a lot more complete.
I don’t think it’s his input that people often refer to, rather the way he delivers it… and this topic (running to several pages now) has asked for SimonE to come forward.
There are plenty of other forums you are more than welcome to use if you wish to hear the “input” (or rather, “output”) from Mr Scuffham.
What I’m going to do is lock this thread until SimonE returns (if ever).
SimonE, PM me when you’re ready to respond to this thread.
