Recently ordered a supplementary manual from Lotus for my Cadena Exige and decided I’d get a certificate of provenance whilst I was at as I like gathering info.
It arrived and whilst it said everything I already new about the spec, it stated that my car is one of only 11 for the UK market. As the marketing blurb had said the UK run was 25, I’m not sure if 11 relates to cars with the GT pack extra…anyone know one way or the other?
Although I’ve seen evidence on you tube of cars up to Nr. 60+ out there, I’d be fairly chuffed if it was that limited in the UK.
Oddly the letter makes no reference to the limited run being 25 for the UK market, rather that mine is one of 11 for the UK market.
It states the worldwide run (excluding USA/Canada) as being 50.
I’m not sure if they have confused that statement with the 240Rs’ limited run - which the marketing stuff did say was 50.
I’ve only seen Cadenas with numbers below mine (mine being 9) so I’d be keen to know if there are owners of higher numbered Cadenas on here.
When I bought mine I understood that their were 25 allocated for the UK and the remaining 25 went abroad.
Ali off here has my old car which was no 3. If you check Youtube you can see other cars with higher numbers around the world.
They also did different colours - all the ones I’ve seen have been black apart from a silver one that JCT had for sale recently
I’d agree with all that, hence a little surprised by the statement in the letter I received from Lotus.
That silver striped grey one that JCT recently sold was stated as being No.2, but there was also a black & yellow/silver striped No. 2 which was previously owned by Jim on Seloc.
I know there are a selection of low numbered models in Scotland / up North, and have seen 7 & 8 for sale, but nothing higher than mine in the UK.
