Got up to go to work this morning and could not get into my exige s2 2005, not the usual flat battery symptoms, lights flashed and the locked moved up slightly then straight back down, I didnt have time to hook it up to a charger.
Is this just another case of the battery on its way out and not enough juice to open the doors properly / something more sinister??
When I get in tonight if it doesnt open when hooked up to a charger via the front jump points? Any suggestions??
Thanks for the information, if thats the case least it didnt play up when i’m in the middle of no where, what kind of price is a new central locking unit gonna cost?
I had that problem on my passenger door when the car was delivered. It sounds odd if it is on BOTH doors? Could it be that the battery is low? Mine was fixed by some adjustments inside the door.
Had this problem only it wouldnt lock. it wasn’t too bad had it done at a specialist with the central locking modulator costing about 40 for the part but dont know how long labour wise as i had a lot of other things done at the same time.
Yup had exactly the same, lived with it for a couple of months as we had ordered an Exige S, told dealer when we traded in the car & he said (in a very matter of fact way) “ah yes it’s got water in it, very common” what’s more he didn’t bat an eye lid even though HE had to get it sorted. So it looks like it’s got water in it! No idea how much it costs but I think you should try to argue your case, even though the warranty is out “don’t ask you don’t get”!
Thank you for all your replys, all sorted now it was the central locking module It ended up costing me, but not to much
Tow 120
Part 35
Labour 190
It could have been worse, it could have gone when I was at a rally day down south 190 miles from home the day before, the tow might have cost a bit more
Can someone tell me where this c/l module is located ?
Since my doors seem to fill with water, it might be wise to try to waterproof this device before the inevitable happens
