Were is the best place to get cat bypass? And if i get one will it bring any lights up on the dash? Its for exige s 220.
Cheers rick
Me!!
I have a couple of Lotus Motorsport decat pipes here in excellent condition,
You will need to put a resistor inline to confuse the 2nd lambda sensor it’s reading a different value to stop the mil light coming on.

At the risk of sounding stupid whats a resistor and how hard is it to fit one?
Rick
Pretty easy I believe, just a couple of wires. I haven’t had to fit one myself as the 2-11 only has 1 sensor. Search for mil elimination kit.
Basically on most toyota lotus you have 2 sensors, one either side of the cat. They should be reading different values so the ecu thinks the cat is doing what it is suppose to by reducing emissions. By putting a decat pipe on both the sensors read the same value which throws the mil thinking the cat is knackered.
Just had a look and hanger 111 do them and seem easy to fit. Can i order a cat bypass off the lotus motosport website?
Rick
You might want a pair of new gaskets for either end of the pipe. Escaping fumes blowing in to engine bay (and then cabin) aren’t nice, been there (on a S1, S2 may differ…211 rather less of an issue).
Ian
Yes if you want to pay over twice what I’m asking!!
They ones I have here are all but new…
Shouldn’t need any new gaskets, there is only one on the end of the 4 branch manifold and I’ve never had to change one of those in all the time I’ve been changing over exhausts and pipes.
See here for the factory motorsport part I have, the price on there is plus vat btw…

Why bother? A lot of fiddling for even less gain !
I could say that about a lot of stuff people bolt onto their cars…
Why, cos he wants to perhaps!!

If only he knew how !!!
It’s an easy job to do with basic tools and a jack.
Don’t bother trying to take the cat pipe off in place, just undo the 2 bolts which hold the cat and back box to the bottom of the 4 branch manifold and the two rubber hangers and drop the whole lot out. You need to reach around the back of the subframe following the wires from the lambda sensors to find the plugs and unclip them.
Part the cat pipe from the back box off the car, swap the sensors over from your old pipe with a smudge of copperslip on them and reassemble the decat pipe loosly tightened to the back box… Offer back into place while still loose, once happy with position tighten the fixings back up fully and reconnect the wires. It probably takes longer to remove and replace the under trays than to change the pipe…
One of the decat pipes has been sold off the back of this thread. I have one more left if anyone else wants it.
