Cat-sensors??

Can anyone tell me what the two sensors that screws into either side of the cat are?

Lambda?

ears ?

ears ?

ears ?

As posted before they are lambda sensors. The pre-cat one measures the exhaust gas and alters the air/petrol mixture to get correct running. The post-cat checks whether the cat is working properly to remove all the nasty gasses (MIL light will illuminate on your stack if the cat is buggered or you are running a de-cat pipe, unless you have the MIL eliminator fitted).

Just fitted the de-cat pipe and the ‘MIL’ light has NOT come on??? Wierd?
You can smell the fumes though!

It will.

It will.

Your right! The MIL light came on today. Will the car now try to change the mix of fuel to try and compensate?? This would be a bad thing wouldn’t it??

My understanding is the performance of the engine will not be affected, as this is the sensor before the cat. The one after is for emissions.
Have you received the Arqray yet, if not had any word on when they are due to get their shipment in?

Hi Jamie,
No not received the Arqray as yet They told me at the beginning of November they would be getting them in 6-8 weeks and then shipping them out. So I guess I’ll get it in late Jan.
I received the Larini de-cat and was going to wait and fit them at the same time. But I couldn’t wait
It was a lot more awkward than I thought it would be to fit (I had no ramps, jack and didn’t remove the rear wheel). Plus the Larini pipe had a loose coupling style manifold fitment, which made if difficult to push and hold the coupling, springs while tightening the bolts. But I got there in the end. I also cut some of the heat shielding back ready for the Arqray.
The de-cat pipe really makes the Stage II sound a lot better, almost sounds like a sonic boom when the second cam kicks in…(well almost):stuck_out_tongue:
