Has anyone used these pads and are they any good, ive still got standard pads in my 2006 exige s, and was thinking of going with these, I know most people rate RS42’s best tho, so weighing up the pro’s and cons.
Im doing my first trackday with norlog in a few weeks so want to get them on for then.
P.S. i tried searching on here but couldnt find any reviews on them.
i have rc5+'s and they’re ace for what i need them for, eg fast road as not been on track yet. Great initial bite and no probs other than they rattle in the calipers a little bit but easy to fix Quite a lot about them on seloc if you do a search too.
were running RC5’s with EBC Ultimax discs, and can’t recommend them enough thus far, we did a track day on the Silverstone Stowe circuit, and they were great all day even on some long stints, Bite from cold is great and very low dust because they’re sintered rather than resin based which allegedly also helps to reduce pad transfer under heavy use. no squeal either
Got mine fitted with only std discs and the stopping power over the std pads is mega. They do seem to make an aggressive grinding sound when applied (tearing the discs apart no doubt…haha), I take it that it is just the pad compound and that everyone else gets this?? Might be work a look to see if the pads are moving I suppose.
Same setup as OrangeD, RC5+ with EBC discs. Equal or better than anything else I’ve tried without the excessive dust and don’t need as much heat in them to work properly. Not sure about disc wear yet but from what I can gather not that bad considering.
Got them on mine with Standard callipers, ally belled AP304’s upfront and Eliseparts discs on the rear. More than enough to get the tyres locked up from high speeds!
Only negative is when it rains the muck that runs to the edge of the wheels can be a bit stubborn to remove!
