Carbon Lorraine Pads

Checking my dates to see if I can do it, is there hotel space available?

Ade

You’ll need to phone the hotel to ascertain availability. Hope you can sort it

Would meet you in Spa - we’re off on our trip on the 21st, arriving in Spa on evening of the 28th.

In fairness I have heard about this delamination problem with CL pads for quite a while now. Sometimes I hate being associated with JSR and not being able to totally speak my mind in case it reflects badly on JSR. We dont stock CL pads for exactly this reason.

John has had to reign me in on several occasions. One day I am going to resign and tell everyone exactly what I think!! haha. There is a LOT of absolute SHIT out there, all in my opinion of course.

Dave, I genuinely do love you too as does John.

Sean (a bit pissed in Sweden) Bicknell…

Dude, thats no way to talk about Ade’s airbox, he’s not finished it yet

LOL @ Boothy

Well I never expected Boothy to stand up for me  I am pleasantly surprised

Ade’s clothes dryer air intake is going to revolutionise the air filter industry.

Im waiting for him to bring out his new range of air to air intercoolers based on the latest cereal box technology.

Too late - already patented by Sir James Dyson

Hey, I’ll have you know there is no cereal box technology in any of my current or planned designs, it gets soggy when it rains

Carbon Lorraine pad update.

As i supplied Rob his pads, I agreed regardless of what the factory said to refund the money for the rear pads. This has now been done.
I also made a call to my supplier to see what could be done, They offered a credit note for the pads and asked for the old pads to be returned.
Rob sent these back so off they went.

Carbon Lorraine have now got the pads back and also issued a credit note to my supplier.(All in the space of about 3-4 working days)
So it looks like all concerned are not out of pocket - Great result me thinks!!(Also suprised by the credit for the pads as we all know parts sold for track use have very limited warranty)

CL are very concerned by this issue and will be carrying out as many test as possible to find out what was the cause.
Once we have any further info I will post it hear…
Cheers
Dave

Very many thanks, Dave - rapid response all round.

Great to deal with a reputable supplier

It is worrying that this appears not to be an isolated case.
Nonetheless, well done Dave, would have expected nothing less from you.

Are there different grades/names for the PF pads and who stocks them?

Yes diff grades for the PF pads available
Give John at JSRacing a call he stocks them and knows the compounds etc etc etc

Got my PF 97’s off john, excellent service.

Fair play to Dave and CL etc for sorting.

Another CL refugee, 500 miles for 120 plus brings tears to the eyes. I had bad pad transfer leading to grabbing and momentary loss of braking at lower speeds.
I doubt CL will be very interested as the CL pads are a competition pad marked not for road use!!!
Glad to see things didn’t turn out this way.

I always thought that the “not for road use” for most products related more to the testing and legal requirement to sell for road use, rather than them being fundamentally unsuitable.

Curious that the backing plates have two holes as if there should be brass rivets fitted.

Rob - is it the side closest to the exhaust routing - just wondering what temps the hub assembly has seen?

Bit of a thread revival.
Another tale of these (suppose track/race) CL pads breaking up from track use.

Buy these pads for track use at your own risk!

(Apologises, but a moment of net boredom so I decided to take a peek on the above forum )

My RC6’s are still going well, can’t praise the performance enough, anybody else had any issues with RC6?

Maybe because you drive like a girl…oh hang on lol…well half like a girl
