Car not starting after ecu flash

Hi folks.need a bit of direction. Whilst the car is sorn I sent the ecu to Paul at Chris neils for the reflash to lower cam point. As the supercharger looks like 2012 s project now:( as ever they were great with turn around. However when I plugged it back in the car won’t start? I’m sure all I did was disconnect the 2 connectors. So figured all would be good when re connecting?? I couldn’t get the larger connect to stay in as it seems the sliding catch has been damaged previously(split so it doesn’t engage the holder in the last nipple when slid across. I tried several times and manged to bend a couple of the Connectors In the process:( I have now straitened them ( using a football pump connector!!!) and have a proper connection/ fit. But still won’t start:(.
Any ideas suggestions/ experience of similar would be greatly appreciated. Paul has been great and is sending me a similar ecu to try to see if it’s a re flash or connectivity problem . I hate to look at the price of a new ecu and connector:((
Mine is an early 06 cable throttle version if that helps???
Cheers

Defo first thing to do is check all fuses …
Fuse box at the front of the car inside the access panel and most engine management fuses on engine bulkhead .

Do you have an OBD reader are you getting any readings from the ECU?
can you hear the fuel pump priming?

Checked fuses, 5 amp in enginebay is for ecu and all seems fine. Will get and try some spares tOmorrow. Fuel pump is priming aNd ignition tuRning but just won’t"catch" is best description I can give.
Sorry for spelling aNd random capitals fat fingers and ipHone not best way to post!!!

Richbk [/quote]Dude tripple check all the ecu pins if you bend and then bend them back they may be broken and you are in need of a new ECU… The connectors from the harness take very little pressure while sliding the locking slider home…

so quick update

paul at cn’s sent me another ecu to check my car.
installed new ecu, still no start.
replaced ecu fuse, car started…
cool i thinks, re-install my ecu…
and again it wont start. tried repalcement ecu…wont start.
replace another ecu fuse, and the car starts ??
so it seems my ecu is causing the fuse to blow on 1st try of starting? ,
i have double and trippled checked the connectors on my ecu and after connecting twice there doesnt appear to be any bent/broken/forced connections, so i really am at a loss to explain whats happened.

any ideas any one??

i have been really impressed with paul and work shop pauls help with this and will proberbly try and get the car to cn’s for them to look at, but ant to make sure im not missing something obvious

thx

Sounds a fecker mate, hope you get it sorted soon.

sounds like a screwed ECU maybe your original bents pins have killed it :frowning:

^^^^^^^…Give the ecu pins a shight tug with a pair of neddle nose and see if a pin or two come out…

and back to the top

thanx for replies so far,
checked the pins and all seems fixed and fine.

stsrted car again last night with the borrowed ecu, after 10-15 secs car cut out?
tried again same thing, revs just fail to 0, from either idle or even if revving 3/4 k.

looking at the ecu it begins with the A prefix as opposed to my original B prefix one.
could this have anything to do with it??

im really stuck now, i think only hope is to rent / acquire a trailer (although not sure how i’ll get a no runnig car on to it?? and take car and both ecu’s to CN’s and let them have it for a while, check my original ecu has been flashed correctly
and then await the bill to get it going again.

any help greatfully received, or indeed anyone with a spare B prefix ecu that i could borrow to get my car on the road and too CN’S or potentially buy if it turns out mines FUBAR’d?

thx

PM sent.

This might help on Seloc

one for sale http://classifieds.seloc.org/ads/s2-exige-ecu/

If the fuse pops with the second ECU it sounds like it’s needing too much amperage to start… Check the grounding strap from the gearbox to the chassis and the ground to the ECU, make sure they are clean and tight…
