Car finally ready for 2007 season!!!!!!!

I have changed to Satin Black as at the end of last year my car dis look quite battered and as most of the pannels were 4 colours it would have been a total nightmare to touch up.

Love the colour. Better than last year’s if you don’t mind me saying so.

Hi Maddog,
I will send You a u2u from seloc to know the price/spec/material/weight

What does the new engine cover look like ?

The new cover is like what they have on the gt3 cars, its smooth with no holes

Any chance of a rough idea of bhp ? What it is like to drive, etc.

I thought the idea of the motorsport one with the holes was to improve cooling ? Surely if there’s no holes it’s just like the original ?

yes very similar to the original, although much lighter, it improves the aerodynamics, but you’re right its going to cook the driver, the engine and everything in the engine bay, but at least you’ll go faster

Hahaha…Superb !

Thanks very much for all of the comments guys. Sorry I haven’t replied sooner, but I was on the rollers all day on Thursday and at Oulton Park on Friday.

The Coulour is growing on me and I do really quite like it now. I agree with you Pesky, I think having all of the stickers on will help.

Rolling road session answered a lot of questions and was basically to optimise the map for the new exhaust.

Oulton Park was an MSV open pit lane track day that I was using it to set the car up on the new “Medium” compound A048’s

The car ran well until something inside the bellhousing took the end of the crank sensor.

The new tyres are awesome, lots more front end grip. We managed to get some setup work done, the car turns in sooooo much better with these tyres on!!

Big up to the Plans boys for coming along and helping me out today!!!

Anyway back to the crank sensor issue, we took the starter motor off and it was obvious something has whizzed around inside the bell housing and caused a bit of carnage, so tonight I will be taking the engine and box out to investigate the problem. The clutch felt mint the whole time, so I don’t think it was that, the only other opinion is some gravel has got into the bell housing (probably from Brands) and that has done the damage. I can’t really see that myself, and I’m not one for guessing, so we will see when it comes apart later.

Sean…

One day I will have some luck

Just finished putting my car back together. One of the springs that holds the clutch cover to the outer friction plate had broken off from its rivet and has whizzed round inside the gearbox still connected to the clutch at the other end. It has virtually sliced the bell housing in two!!! In some places it has actually broke through the bell housing to the outside. It look like it then broke off and has whizzed round inside denting the sh1t out of everything!!!

I have cleaned everything up as good as I can and fitted another clutch and it is all ow back in the car and the bodywork is back on. Fingers crossed the bell housing stays in one piece, lol. I think it will, its only really killed it in a few places.

Just need a new crank sensor now.

Sean…

hard luck sean…hope you get it sorted

ditto.

That looks amassing Sean. Much better than the old IMHO. Cant wait to see it live.

I hope that was the last misfortune for this year.
