Ok the time has come for me to admit that as I’m only driving the Exige to within a fraction of its abilities on the road I’ve got to get into the whole track day mallarky. I’ve bought a harness and bar and accusump so have all the gear and no idea so to speak.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for some good driver tuition, specifically how to control the car at the limit (and beyond to a degree). I’ve done a few track days over the years in other machinery but never my Exige as to be honest it’s always felt too razor sharp and capable for what i deem “fun” driving (read: oversteer). I’ve always been firmly in the camp of extracting as much sideways joy out of a car at reasonably normal speeds, something which I gather from my spirited road driving over the years the Exige isnt really built for.
Anyway enough waffle, anyone care to recommend a good tutor to teach me Exige car control? if I get up to speed I hope to see some of you lot at a track day soon.
Walshy too for the basics.
Look at the recommended drivers on MSAR’s site.
I’ve used Ollie Hancock on several occasions. About 300 notes for a day. I would thoroughly recommend him for track stuff.
I’m with Walshy on the 27th…thought there was another space on my day but it’s now gone to a M3 owner with an odd name…shame, you could have joined me.
Unfortunately the man speaks the truth…but at least I’m not from the “Midlands”…“Hartley, is there any food in the fridge cos I’m starving” - said in a Brummy accent - quote from “Pipkins” circa 1975 to 1980…
