One for David I guess…
Just want to be very PC… as always!
Can I put up a link to an iTunes App I have just developed and released that I am sure will be of interest to all on here (I hope!)
Cheers,
Pete

Intriguing. Can’t wait to hear more
Just do it Pete, it’s not as though this is your first post.
Intrigued too, I’ve heard of silver surfers but silver code-monkeys?? Good on ya
Don’t get excited, it’s only a digital compilation of Rolf Harris’s greatest…
Nearly!!!
Well… I posted a reply 2 hours ago… as the 2nd reply…
Somehow it has vaporised!!!
This has happened twice to me now???
Must be ‘Rolf’!!!
Well… I will try again!!!
A few months ago, I was sitting on a beach in OZ… as one does! There was a bit of a commotion and it became apparent that a teenage girl had fallen unconscious just in the water. A few peeps ran and dragged her out and someone called an ambulance…
10 mind later, she was being stretchered up surrounded by medics who were trying to work out what had happened. In all of this they were trying to establish and ask if anyone knew who she was… no one did.
She had her iPhone and a towel with her and that was all.
Like most of us, me included, I have my partners phone number under “H”, ‘Home’ in my contacts. But that information is only available if you can get past the passcode on the lock screen… No one knew who she was… they left the scene with her, but with her parents etc oblivious as to what had happened to their daughter…
It occurred to me that the emergency services, or for that matter, any ‘3rd party’ should be able to find out and access a contact number for ‘next of kin’… hence the development of my ‘App’ called ‘Phone Home’
This enables any name and contact number to always be displayed on the iPhone ‘Lock Screen’ without the need to have knowledge of the phone password. In this way, Emergency Services, first on scene etc can always have those important details available to notify someone important, perhaps at a time or situation where that really did matter. It offers us all some extra security and peace of mind for our teenage kids, us! and also perhaps our parents, in the event any of us keeled over
'Phone Home" is available on the iTunes store using the following URL
https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/phone-home/id646308110?mt=8
I have bought my App for my 3 kids, 69p!!! for that peace of mind.
If you like it, and decide to put this on your iPhone, GREAT! It would also be super if you passed on this to your friends and if you are a ‘tweeter’, positive comments also on twitter @phonehomeapp
Leaving a review on the iTunes store would be cool too!
So, there we have it! That is what a grounded B757 pilot is doing with his time now!!!
Thanks guys!
Pete
Pete, it’s a great idea.
may I suggest you make your second description paragraph the first?
“The ‘Phone Home’ App for iPhone or iPad, enables any name and phone number to be displayed on the lock screen, so that anyone, including Emergency Services, can see these important contact details even if the iPhone or iPad is password protected.”
That’s the point, and the first para one see’s currently doesn’t get to the point iyswim. Swop them round. And the first ‘image’ show’s a blank ‘wallpaper’?
Great idea. Good luck!
Great idea Pete and hope it has a lot of success for you…
Just be careful incase this guy gets onto you about copyright…
Many thanks for the constructive feedback!
Not sure if this helps or not, a few years ago there was a large push to get your emergency contact in your phone to start with “ICE” In Case of Emergency. Maybe your app could also display this? I know a lot of my friends and family use it
very cool idea
Great stuff, Pete
I’d buy it if I had an iPhone (recently got a new Samsung Galaxy).
Same here, think its a great idea, I’d buy it for the wife too but we both have Android based phones (Samsung Galaxy)
Yep Ade, ‘ICE’ is indeed a well known system.
The real difference with my App is that your chosen ‘ICE’ contact is always visible. You do not need to get into ‘contacts’ to find this… a lot of people have their phone password protected so you cannot get past the lock screen. ‘Phone Home’ always displays that critical information!
I do have ‘ICE’ in the metatags associated with the App.
Hope you all can spend your 69p wisely and buy this App! And Please tell your friends!!!
Thanks!
Pete.
Dodgy build quality there y’know, matches the Asian Chocolate name it has
Well, Pete, you’ve got my 69-pennorth
Says the man who spends £160 on a pair of gloves with no fingers!
Well, Pete, you’ve got my 69-pennorth
My wife and two kids (out of three, he’s too young lol) will have too Pete when I get home buddy (I’m BB). I also hope it makes you a bundle mate, great idea by a top bloke. NA ROCKS (on Cell no cool smilie).
Thanks for your kind words guys!
I ‘designed’ this for us parents to put on our kids phones… but the App even makes ME feel safer… with my ticker issues in the knowledge that if I keel over, the right people will be able to be contacted…
The BIG thing now is to get as many people aware that this App is available!
I am trying to get this kicked off by social media and also by word of mouth!!! So please do tell your friends!
BTW, version 2 does resolve a minor bug in V1!
Cheers,
Pete.
Great stuff, Pete

The ‘Android’ version is just about ready for launch mate, so you WILL be able to spend your 69p too!!
