Cams and management

If I upgrade to QED 425MK cams inlet and exhaust will I need to alter the engine management at all? Currently using 177bhp ECU without verniers (on the shopping list!)

IMHO you’re asking for trouble without having it properly mapped. Also much, much better spending dosh on the Emerald & verniers NOW, then getting different cams, if you really feel it’s necessary. ie Don’t do things arse about face

I have verniers on the way to me, I understand emerald would be ideal but cant justify all those moneys right now.

So what use are the verniers going to be without a readable/mappable ECU???

How much will it cost to buy & fit the cams???

Following the route you propose may well end up costing you a darn sight more than an Emerald

An emerald is aroun the 650 mark yea?. I was going to fit the 190 ecu and change the inlet duration as per the 190 kit pulley.

There are better cams than the QED ones…

Any cam with a decent lift profile will require the springs to be changed and the follower bore tops to be modded, a cam that has no more lift then the VHPD ones isnt worth bothering with IMO.
