Cam change before remap?

My elise with VHPD engine will soon be going in to get the map checkout out as it over fuelling and has a couple of nasty power dips when I got it rolling roadbed just before mass.

My current spec is

196bhp @ 7797rpm / 146.1 lbft @ 5821rpm

Spec:
DVA Big valve Head, 29.5mm inlet valves 26 exhaust.
VHPD cams, Solid followers, Piper verniers, jenvey direct to head throttle bodies, bernard scouse airbox, Omega forged pistons, VHPD(PTP) Rods, VHPD (ptp) crankshaft, eliseparts lightened flywheel, ap racing clutch, Eliseparts Ultimate bore manifold, Emerald ECU,

The bottom end has all been balanced.

My question is would it be worth changing the vhpd cams before it gets remapped for a little extra power. At the moment the rev limit is set at 8,000rpm I have been told as the bottom end is balanced it would rev to near 8,500rpm I don’t want to change the head as I have only just fitted a new head gasket so I will be sticking with its current spec.

If cams would be a good idea to change what cams do you guys recommend I go for where from and do I need anything else i.e lifters etc?

Thanks

James

The cams to use would be 1444s, but it is non trivial since the current springs will go coilbound and the lobes will catch on the head so you will need to take the head off, followed by a head stripdown, modify the head to clear the lobes, fit double valve springs and steel caps, reshim of the solid followers and then replacement of the head and cam re-time.
