I need to run a couple of cables from the engine bay to the bottom centre of the dash…
At the moment it looks to me like using the l/h bulkhead grommet and then routing either underneath the handbrake or routing under the n/s cill cover.
Anyone know of a better way ?
Straight through alongside the handbrake cable.
Ta, I was trying to poke a rod through the sponge at the gearbox cable exit underneath the car today but wasn’t sure if electrical cables might wear through due to mechanical movement ?
I suppose it might be possible to use a small oval piece of electrical conduit to protect …
I took mine through with the rest of the loom , through the rubber grommet behind the airbox. Need a few more bits removed in the cabin for it to be done neatly.
Yea… looks as though the seat would need to come out to allow access using that grommet ,also the centre console…
I can only just about get in it at the mo.cos it’s in a single garage on axle stands…
Wrapped mine in some plastic cable binding stuff. Not sure what you would call it. And cable tied to the gear cables to limit movement.
Cool … decided on this route now too.
Got some oval electrical conduit from screwfix today to pass the wires through.
Job done …
Actually took about 8 hours on and off …
Could have took much less , but,
Every joint soldered
Every hole grommeted
Fused
No visible wires
No visible fixings
Stack loom cut and and extended … it’s the only way .(12 solder and heatshrink operations)
Nice one buddy, pictures please
