Bubbling paint...

Just got my car back from the garage and all is well mechanically. However, the paint on the bonnet lid has started to bubble. Checked it this morning and its getting worse!

Does anyone know why this may happen and is it a total respray or can it be patch fixed?

Happening on my S1 too, lots of little bubbles, on the front lid and inner door sill. The area on the lid is a place where it’s already been sprayed (shortly after delivery, there was a small crack).

I’ve decided to leave it until the whole car needs attention (it’s a track machine not a show car).

Don’t forget to sort payment to Bookatrack re: 27th Feb

See ya there, buddy

The car is in rude health following yesterday’s mapping, which is what I was waiting for.

What sort of figures did it make Ian? just out of interest.

Has anyone spilt brake fluid whilst refilling the master cylinder reservoir?

yes. You should use a rag around the master cylinder so you wont make a mess and won’t have the oil on the chassis and bodywork.

Pretty much 190 on the nose. So no horseys lost in 6+ years, better than the supercars on TG, eh!

I’ll chuck the plot on at some point. Linear power to 7,000+rpm and a pretty flat curve, I was quite pleased.

Cool man. Your Banzai driving style adds another 20BHP!!!

Only 20?!

Whilst I know it’s a compliment, I’m not quite sure how to feel about Banzai, feels a bit haphazard. So I looked it up - Banzai

I’m going to ignore the ‘leading to likely or inevitable death’ and dwell on ‘“(may you live) ten thousand years,” originally a greeting addressed to the emperor’.

That said, I think Mr Walsh can certainly seem Banzai and he’s done most of my teaching.

Here’s the plot:

This one only says 185 but it’s the one at the end when the room was really hot. With the colder air pre-mapping we got over 188.
