after thinking the throttle cable was frozen i am now not so sure but think maybe more to do with the accelerator peddle which although moves, feels soft for the first 1/4 when depressed. Cable is slack but still works… any ideas?
As I was just reading this particular page yesterday I’ll scan and post the service notes up later Richie…maybe you can check a few things…
S2 N/A?
ah that would be great… i did find a small black rubber washer that had a nipple attached i think… in the foot well… not sure if its related? yeah S2 N/A
Here you go…good luck.
ahhh brilliant… is there a diagram of the pedal too? That would be really useful!
A few more pages in…Should have posted this too I’d forgot it was bloody there and I needed it myself two weeks ago
…if it’s not clear pm your email.
cheers jonny… looks like its the downstop! means getting into the lotus position to take a closer look… grr…
thnks very much for the info… greatly appreciated!
Your welcome Richie.
IIRC Thats the upper stop, so the throtttle pedal is higher than it should be.
Anyway, here’s a throttle pedal yesterday
Note this is with the heel/toe mod, so the stop bolt is much shorter. Hope this might be of some help to someone.
Google again…
You can also download the entire Elise workshop manual from tinternet… there is loads of useful stuff in it… including the section on the Exige!
great pic! thnks! still gonna have to break my back to get a closer look!
Sorry to resurrect this thread, I am currently considering retrofitting the Toyota Elise/Exige throttle cable to an S2 Rover Elise and wondering if anyone can help with a photo of the pedal box with throttle cable “abutment on scuttle”?
My motivation is that sourcing a replacement S2 Rover Elise throttle cable has been very difficult, the S2 Rover Elise throttle cable is not of particularly high quality imo, and the later throttle pedal assembly seems a far cleaner design.
Thanks,
Ben.
S2 Toyota cable mod, is totally the way to go. I did a thread on it a few years ago when i did it to mine. One of the best mods I did to the car.
Cheers Sean. I thought I may have been breaking new ground with the modification lol.
I’ve found a thread entitled “Throttle Cable Mod” - will start there and any problems will be in touch if that’s okay…
Ben.
