Thanks to Plans Motorsport and John Danby Racing for their support in our first season. We finished 2nd in the last race and 2nd overall in the class. Here are some pics.
Will probably do Britcar again which will have longer races, including a 6 hour endurance. We will have a de-tuned spare engine and if funds allow get Hewland to repalce the Quaife sequential.
Might do some Lotus On Track but its a bit of an arse retro fitting road parts.
Was this not the car plans were selling last year ?? at that time it was r/h/d so must have been converted
Nice car though and well done
Wonder how many original motorsport elises are left ?
Yes the car was bought from Ian Bolton, customer of Plans and i understand they looked after it for the previous owner to him. It was indeed RHD, Plans converted it to centre seat.
We might do a Honda conversion, but we quite like being the David versus Goliath!
It weighs 719kg at the moment and the priority is getting weight out of it now. Fortunately one of the original guys in the Motorsport project is working on the car (John Danby).
All being well I’ll be competing against you next year in a 350Z, not sure what races we’re doing yet, the 6 hours is a definite (as I understand the 24 isn’t running next year) and we may do more races depending on budget etc.
Could someone please explain to me how this car passes Scrutineering for its race series, the Competitors and Officials Yearbook (the blue book) states on page 144 [C(b)8f Not have the space normally occupied by passengers encroached upon, but may have the passenger seat removed. Do you just say there is no space for passengers as it a race car? Have just done this conversion myself and now wondering where i can race? Any ideas Rex.
