Hi all,
If you were looking for a race spec braking package, what would you opt for? I currently have MMC’s on a motorsport-bodied Elise.
Look forward to your thoughts.

How have ytou foound tyhe MMCs have held up? Have you tracked the car much with them on?
It’s one thing I’d like to try with mine at some point, opening up the front brake ducts and trying to get a lot of airflow over the brakes and revert back to the lighter MMCs… on the rear at least
Hi, I’ve not tracked it all yet - I’ve been under the impression that they would melt? I’ve signed up for the LoT RDC series and so am trying to understand what the optimum braking solution looks like?
Cheers
Will
There is good info in this thread on options

295 AP’s (from geary) all round (may need to fettle the rear calipers to fit) with Pagid RS29’s at the front and RS14’s at the rear is a safe bet.

I’d do what Sean B has, the Lotus motorsport Elise setup. Front calipers on the back and 4 pots (maybe only 2 actually) on the front, with a bias valve. You’s then need a mini caliper for the hand-brake though (a la Audi R8), as there’s no mech on the front calipers.
I’m not sure anybody has found better than that.
That allows 295 all round I believe and I’d say RS14s at each corner.
Perfect!
Ian

maybe something like THIS could be adopted for the rear? If so it would save space around the disc on the wheel.
lol! That’s the original Esprit (and F1) setup!
Lotus had the brake discs installed on the drive shafts rather then the wheels.
Unfortunately, this is not an option on an Elise or Exige as you simply don’t have enough space to do this…
There is a small caliper available from AP Racing which one of the LoTRDC cars is running with, very neat solution.

Is that Nick Kaye, please Mark?
No, David Harvey.
Thanks Mark.
