Brakes

Evening All,

I’m going to need to change the brakes on my Exige, as the discs (2 piece, 8 stud) are wearing out. I’m not after 2 piece discs, but would like to fit what the car had originally, or a decent alternative. I intend using CL RC5+ pads as I’ve done the Pagid thing on my last 2 cars. What discs should I use? The car will see 2 track days this year, maybe up to 4, so it’s not a track demon.

Cheers,
Kurt

Hi Kurt, i believe my car still has the orginal discs on them…they are the motorsport discs will drilled holes.

I’ve ‘heard’ that they have a tendancy to crack between the holes but i never found that.
I fitted CL5+ pads as soon as i got the car 2 years ago and found the braking very good and fade free on trackdays.

Ive just ordered a replacement pair from here:

Benja, yes that is handy to know, thank you.

Dris, they are the ones I like the look of and I think were standard when the car was new. If I order them they need not to crack at that price! I’ll be putting stock rotors on the back. So you’ve not experienced any issues with the CL 5+ then?
Cheers,
Kurt

The CL5+ have been great especially on the odd trackday I’ve done. Fade free and really reliable…so much so I thought it a waste to spend a lot more on upgrading.
I had heard about the pads breaking up but I believe that was from earlier versions.
I’m on my second set now.
