Brake Pads?

I’ve got to replace the original brake pads on my Series2 190hp Exige.I’ve told the lotus dealer I would do it myself as they wanted to charge somewhere between 400-500 to replace the pads at both ends.
I have been told by the dealer that the OE pads are mintex. The dealer stocks them but wants over 100 per set.
Does this sound about right?
If so what is the part No?
Is there something better I should consider changing to?

Cheers,

Moley.

Padgid RS42 would be a good bet

I’ve got a brand new set of standard front pads you can have for 20 quid

Another vote for 42s from me. My standard pads on my na exige covered only 7k miles. My pagids used to last almost double that. Well worth the extra cash.

ps changing the fronts is very easy. Even a mechanical numpty like me can change them! Rears are a wee bit more difficult but i can even manage to do those myself now!

Thanks for the advice. I had seen the Pagids on the Hangar 111 web site and thought they could be good.Where’s the cheapest place to buy them?

Sorry for the hi-jack but if you are putting on Pagids do you need to replace front and back or can you just do the front?

You need to do both or you will drastically affect the brake balance.
