What are the best front pads for normal driving on the road? Not fast road, just normal on an S1?
No idea but why not fit the standard Lotus pads, they know what they are doing. I think the Lotus pads are Brembo ones, most likely as they are AP (F) and Brembo (R) calipers and Brembo own AP. Seriously Lotus sell them.

I also had this ‘conversation’ with myself after getting my Type 49. The brakes on it were rubbish!
Decided to retain the OEM disks, maintaining the OEM look was important.
But pads… went for the tried and tested Pagid RS-42 that I always also used on my Exige(s)!
MUCH better bite and when warmed up, just in normal driving, they are excellent. Just a bit dusty, but nothing of any consequence.
Shame about the colour however, blue clashes with the red! LOL!! However blue would go nicely with your black!

Agreed I am going to maintain original disks etc, not convinced I want blue pads! I might just try a set of standard ones to see if they will actually work unlike the ones currently on there that seem to do very little…
