Brake failure?

Another post has got me wondering.

Are the S1’s brakes on a single circuit, so if you lost one line you’d have no pressure for any corner?

Cheers, Ian

Hi Ian,

The brakes are split into separate front and rear circuits, but both from the same master cylinder and reservoir. In fact on the standard master cylinder each front brake has it’s own line too.

Cheers

They wont fail as badly as they would without pads in the calipers mate!!!

So if you split a line would it drain the cylinder and take pressure out the entire system?

Even if not, I wouldn’t want to be stopping with just th rears! :s

A safety feature is the size of your disks. The bigger they are the more the rim is able to keep the pads in!

The fluid level warning light is a good indictaion if you have a problem …

Mine was flashing on Saturday as my pads were almost worn out … so im sure any leak would have the lamp on quite quick
