every now and again the boot wont shut properly, making me tighten the part with the spring type fixture on it.( told you how bad i was)…i presume its the part that locks the boot…
is this a common problem. can anyone give me the exact part so i can order another one. or should i just live with it…but with my ocd, i would sooner replace said part, if only i knew what it was called…marcus did tell me it needed tightening every now and again.

Scatty - sounds like you need to get hold of an electronic version of the parts manual for your car. Not sure I have seen one doing the rounds as per the various manuals for the S1 but if one exists I’m sure someone will post a link or pm you
