Reading about the condensation/chemical reaction between the rubber floor mats and the alloy floor I told a friend of mine who is a Jaguar engineer, and he recons that Lotus have an emerging problem with the chassis bonding agent absorbing moisture and corroding the joints. Has any one else heard of this? or is this cobblers?
Haven’t heard of this and i hope its cobblers…
the under floor corrosion, as i understand, is NOT a chemical reaction with the mats, however the mats being so firmly stuck down create perfect conditions for crevice corrosion…
BTW anyone know what stage Lotus are at progressing a repair for us on this?
