Bloody van again

Well in three and a half years I have had split brake lines, three weeks ago the top mount suspension bushes went followed two weeks later by a slipping clutch.
The clutch was caused by a bearing and some shaft sleeve going dumping fluid on the friction plate.
One week later its done it again and I have been told its because the gearbox bearings have gone which has shagged the shaft sleeve and bearing again.
So now I’m into a new or recon gearbox and I’m having to fight it out with the garage over the other bits its fubared a second time
So its looking like I’ll of forked out 2.5k on a van that’s probably work 3.5k if I’m lucky.
I’ll not be buying another Peugeot ever, the van is just four and has done 46k miles and I look after it.

Sorry rant over, having paid the deposit for my new house and my VAT bill today I really did not need this news at 4pm.

Feeling rather skint and pished off.

VAT bill, nice! I’ll save you money in the long run buddy

That’s a bugger, Boothy. My lad used to use a small Citroen white van and that was a heap of sh*te. His firm’s other Citroens were also crap. He’s got a VW now and v.happy with it

VW or Ford is the way to go, most other makers just use car engines and boxes and they just don’t last in vans :frowning:

Careful, Con will throw thunder bolts at you!

I did think about that… sorry Con.

Still this week has just been pants, van insurance company will not insure my new house, two streets away…
Paid 412 in full last month and just been charged 90 for one month of insurance but if I lave the broker they will stiff me for another 90…
Long story long because of the charges I cannot beat their quote so now 190 worse off… on top of the 1500 I have spent in repairs for the god damn thing.

Working for nothing at the moment.

You’re getting wood over an Astra? I’ve heard everything now!!

Got a 98 170,000mile T4-runs like new.
