Blime!

Anybody see Kelvin Burt’s crash in the Porsche Cup at Thruxton today??!!!

At least 5 rolls and a flip, clearing the fence. Landed on it’s wheels, nobody hurt.

Doesn’t appear to have made it to YouTube yet.

Ian

Yeah saw it first hand

Err… eek!!!

Kinda scary all of these big Motorsport crashes of late, I mean what about that one with Tom Kristensen at Hockenheim the last month .

Sounds like the commentator had an orgasm…spectacular though.

Videos up now lads, bloody hell that was a big shunt .

Incredible

It’s always amazing how much energy is obviously being used to keep the car on the track; it’s not until it leaves the track that you really get to see it. I remember seeing first hand one of the Mercedes drivers at le mans leave the mulsane straight like an aeroplane and land in the wooded section. He luckily was alright and it was put down i think to an aero problem at 200+ Mph…Still frightening to watch !!

David, go track that one down on YouTube!

Le Mans 1999, the first Le Mans I ever remember watching .

Oh, go on then…

David

Well done David, a great find…some awesome footage especially the slow motion replay…Ah yes it all came back to me Le Mans 99 and an all star cast in the Mercs Webber and Heidfeld.

Looks a great circuit to drive from the onboard footage; just not in a le mans Merc !!!

Glad knowone was seriously injured…

…one of the Mercedes drivers at le mans leave the mulsane straight like an aeroplane and land in the wooded section. …

I remember this well. It actually happened on the run down to Indianapolis as the video clearly shows. Since they installed the chicanes on the Mulsanne straight most cars achieve their highest speeds in this section of the course these days.

Probably the most memorable accident in motor sport. Spectacular

More than this…

(Sorry lads, just cant help myself with this YouTube thing )

I suspect that NASCAR is responsible for more terrifying crashes than any other formula - they always happen at about 200 mph with loads of other cars just inches away.

I was at Talladega in 1996 and enjoying watching the race from the roof of a Winnebago on the infield by the fence at the entry to turn 2 when THIS happened right in front of me. Scary. There are plenty of similar examples on YouTube. NASCAR may appear boring on TV but it’s really awesome if you’re there, and I don’t mean because of the crashes. 45 cars all going by together at 200mph makes the ground shake and your ears hurt.

(PS How do you get the movie screen to appear here rather than post a simple link?)

Gee that marshall was quick with his yellow flag!

Smart lad keeping his hand on the wheel without a door.
