Black Forest route & hotel recommendations

I am taking Miss double D to the Black Forest for her birthday in August, does anyone have any recommendations for hotels and routes?

It’s an area I have never visited the area before. I don’t want a run of the mill hotel, however the places I’ve found online so far have given me a bit of a shock price wise. Any suggestions or must do’s would be greatfully received

It’s turning into a real driving trip summer - Romania with Wes next weekend, Switzerland with Blaster / Barry from Seloc in 2 weeks, Goodwood and Black Forest in August. Cooool!

The Black Forest is a must for me when driving to the Alps and back.
Do not miss the B500 that runs south from Baden Baden, about 20 miles of Lotus heaven, where (if you ignore the speed limit a little) you will want to do it again… And again
The roads are so smooth, and even those that would not normally be on a main through route are fantastic
There are loads of places to stay and usually for one room you should be able to just turn up and stay without booking ahead
We seem to have gravitated to Wolfach recently, which is a pretty town, cobbled main street, with 4 or 5 hotels, we use the Hotel Kreuz, since when we first stayed we were looking for some single rooms.
Prices in the Black Forest should not be excessive at all. Zoom in on Google maps and type hotels, then look at the hotels direct websites
Schluchsee and Triburg are nice too
…edit …And given how you describe your passenger, the town of Titisee, may be appropriate :lolno:

Are you a tax exile? Only 90 days allowed in UK.?

Top response, Steve. I wouldn’t have expected anything less!

Thanks Steve. I have decided to stay a few days in the south now near the start of the B500, and a few days in the north near Freudenstadt. I had totally forgot that this is a ‘spa’ holiday type area so it’s cool to see a lot of the hotels have pools  Will be great to cool off after some nice drives.

I’m expecting alot of Titisee

Less than 90 days is fine, just wish there were more car insurance providers offering extended EU cover.
