Big lad + exige

hello everyone.

I will officially introduce myself. My name is Dave, im 19 and live in the north east - Darlington

I really like the look of the exiges, s1 & s2 and im thinking of breaking my car and pruchasing an exige.

the problem is that im around 6 ft and about 19 stone ish

would i fit in an exige? what would be the better choice s1 or s2?

I wont be offended lol…

I have a daily driver so it would only be weekends and track work

Im currently a vtec boy so a honda exige would be my dream!

Thanks
Dave

My mate got in for a few laps of Combe last week but had fun getting out

I think it just depends on how bad you want one, if you want it bad enough you will fit

You will be fine, however …

Like me, you might look a little like fred flintstone though.

The exige/elise looks better with a midget driving.

DSE i know what you are saying, it doesnt really bother me what oter people think.

I suppose getting a removable steering wheel would make the entry/exit process a bit easier

Removable steering wheel…

Removable roof would make things easier…

Hang on… thats an ELISE!!!

No Probs with the S1 at all… GET ONE…

Just ask Pesky… he is knocking on the door of … !!!

Friend of mine admits to being 18st, so I presume he is more. Dont think he is quite 6ft.
I dont let him drive my S2 but he has been a passenger a number of times.
Yes he struggles and complains getting in and out (more so) but seems ok once installed. If you own one, you develop a nack of getting in and out that suits you.
There is a definite lack of shoulder room when he is sat alongside, and I assume performance suffers a little.

Size doesn’t matter. Once you are in it is very comfortable, (I’m 5ft 11 ins and somewhere near 16 stones) One of the finest pedalers of an S1 I have ever seen, Graham, is a large man and he fits the car like a glove as these picturs show.

The driver change was always great fun to watch!

Nice one Mike

Love the 2nd pic - looks like Graham is about to rugby tackle me as he falls out of the car to let Russ take over! Happy days

Yup agree with Mike, Graham was always entertaining to watch - I once saw him at Brands go around the outside of everyone at Druids get pushed onto the grass on the outside and keep his foot in whilst on the grass pretty much all the way down the hill to Graham Hill Bend to hold position.

My mate Taperell managed to get into the car and he is not exactly diminutive  he would have only been able to run the car in a drag race tho because he was not able to turn the wheel.

I manage ok getting in and out of mine and I am an XXL type.

You develop a method that suits over time.

Thanks for the replies.

fingers crossed i should be able to fit in

Not a problem. I’m 6’4" and a touch heavy, well, more than a touch.

Drivers side is a piece of piss to get in and out of, passenger side is embarrassing. I went out in a mates MG Midget the other night and that was a lot harder to get in and out of than the Exige.

My car has a removeable steering wheel and shortened gear lever, although I actually find it easier to get in and out with the wheel in place but it does space it closer to the driver which helps with leg room.

Ive had a trip down to JCT 600 at leeds and i managed to get into an elise no problem, actually quite comfortable when i was in, getting out was a bit of a task but nothinbg a bit of practice wont sort.

Dave

Do you live in Yorks area then? If so, make sure you get along to/join www.nyloc.org - see ya there

hi mate,

no i live in Darlington - county durham, take it you live in yorkshire?

Cough, no, but a member of Nyloc (a not to be missed monthly gathering of Loti/enthusiasts!). Up to a 100 Loti (ranging from original Elites/Sevens to the latest models), & a fantastic bunch of people to share banter etc

Welcome matey!!

Get yourself an S1, S2’s are for girls!! lol

However the doors and the doorapeture are quite a bit bigger on an S2. They are a LOT easier to get in and out of.
