Big Fiats

No, not the bloody Grand Prix pillocks!

Today went out in a 430 Scuderia. Best car I’ve ever been in - fullstop! :sunglasses:

Thought you did not like big fiats? or is that Russ?

I generally don’t, Andy, so that’s why I posted the above. 180K mota with no carpets or wireless, but loadsa carbon fibre (JF would have a permanent stiffy!) Stunning performance, & what a gearchange!!! :sunglasses:

A carbon stiffy? maybe we could club together and buy him one for christmas. (thats a carbon stiffy not an F430 if your clubbing together for an F430 I’ll take that ta).

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm  raging semi lol

Very Cool cars!!

And on a tight track with a prize at the chequered flag , which would you rather be in ?

A small fiat.

Manual or paddle shift?

Tim

Believe it or not, it operates in either “automatic”, or “paddle” mode, & not manual in the traditional sense. In either mode, it blips the throttle on the downchange. Apparently, the changes are as fast Schumy’s F1 car from 3 years ago.

Also has 4 mode settings for suspension/traction control etc.

I was so gobsmacked by it, that I felt I just had to start this thread.

If I could weld like that, I’d put carpet over it :astonished:

So is that on your list of cars you would sell the exige for? If it is I make that a list of two.

Boothy

I’m now of the opinion that I’ll only ever sell it for financial reasons (ie to put money into the coffers), not because I’d prefer to own a different car to the Exige.

Just what I had to do…

Nothing beats the ENTIRE ownership experience of an Exige S1 IMHO. Sure there are faster and better handling cars out there… but that is not what it is about!

I DO like that Fezza though! (pity is made by a bunch of bending the rules Italians!)

Pesky stop it, stop it  - been out in similar Scud on a Pistonheads outing (sorry you chaps!) and they are absolutely brilliant but not quite as good an experience as a Lambo (whatever I was in…go) - but dream on I would take the Fiat deluxe now, now, now

But curiously would I sell my soul, or the Exige, for a little bit of one??? - hmmmn now that would be difficult - Scuds are quite large, servicing is expensive, don’t like the cut of the jib of owners I’ve met  could I fit a VHPD in the rear??? - so that’s a no then - lol - oh and a minor point I am just short by 150k for a good s/h example…

Yup they are great but you’d have to be seriously minted to buy one, even more minted to track them like we do and hugely minted to give it anything resembling maximum beans on track in a 150k+ motor.

Happy to have one next to the Exige in the garage if I win the lottery.

What he said^^^^^^^

You need to be very rich to enjoy one to anywhere near its full potential, weirdly I would prefer to keep mine and add an Aston for long distance cruising to my track toy for the same money

Yep and I would be rather pissed if on a track day I got a message on the radio that another Scud was driving faster than me and would I really mind if I would pull over to allow it to pass

…and even more pissed off if you’re on a trackday in yer 170k Scud and got shown the blue ‘must try harder’ flag to make way for Bill Oddie driving a luminous plastic car
