Frank ! … not questioning your knowledge at all … (who would dare!) …but , how you can “hear” It’s lean is beyond belief …
There’s more distortion on that microphone than Pete Townshends Fookin guitar !!!

[/quote]Say what ?.. Hear as in RPM…
Mine starts to run lean at just under 8k, then power starts to drop off. Could be that I’m running a similar map to yours Ade, but with the 3" 2bular is causing it to run a little lean. What I don’t get is the gotham mapped cars can’t except the slightest of changes (induction etc), but the standard 260 map can. Does the Gotham disable any auto learn facility embedded in the ecu??

Learn is always on as it is in the OEM ecu.
The Gotham cars are tuned for performance so they are somewhat close to the edge still on the safe side…
You may want to upgrade your fuel pump if you start runing lean up top…
N17VES - I had the same problem and had to fit an uprated fuel pump at the same time as the 550 injectors to keep it safe and that was on my 2.9 pulley 300bhp tune. Either way if you plan to go for the smaller pulley you’ll defo need the uprated pump and injectors for 330’ish bhp.
When you say “leaner” is a lower figure leaner or a higher figure? In other words, is 12 leaner than 14 or is it the other way around?
Sorry if it’s a stupid question, but I don’t know much about AFR’s.
A lower AFR reading is richer.
A higher AFR reading is leaner .
AFR = Air Fuel Ratio
12 parts air to 1 part fuel = Richer
14 parts air to 1 part fuel = Leaner
14.7 Parts air to 1 part fuel = Perfect Mixture but it’s not that simple
Thanks for clearing that up
So… having read all of this,
IF I were to fit Jims 2ubular 4/1 and de-cat with the standard 220 ECU now, will the ECU ‘learn’ or will I be running lean?
I am guessing fitting this now will see no increase of power?? (since the TB opening is restricted by the 220 ECU map!)
BUT, maybe I will??? Hence my question!
OR shall I just wait until IF I get the Gotham tune with RR mapping?
Just went out for a cold weather dry road blast… after 4 weeks it felt pretty quick! and sounded the BIZ!
IMO …
The bottleneck in the standard car will be the pump and injectors …
100% sure that Jim s header needs a lot more fueling .
The only acid test is to try it and " measure " result as I did .
No amount of asking on here will give you a CERTAIN answer !!
Ps. The throttle body opening is probably restricted for very good reason …ie. pump and injectors are at their limit !
yep.
Gotham re-map includes new injectors. Jim’s 4-1 header does need a lot more fueling because my Katana 440c injectors are now max’d out! So if I want to go beyond 270bhp with charge cooling & smaller pulley I’ll need to upgrade again to 550c injectors. Also need to upgrade my fuel pump as well
I would get Sinc’s to just do a custom map with 100% throttle opening. Should see some interesting numbers
Pete !
Just to add …
Don’t do anything yet …my unmapped car will be going on the dyno in the next couple of weeks …
There may well be a surprise

Thx guys.
At this stage it’s just an IF…
I will be interested in your ‘results’ John!

Will you be interested in mine??
If he wipes the floor with me I’ll be buying a 2bular

Yea yea … This year we have tuition !!!
Cookery or guitar lessons?
I’ll have to get some more practice on GT5! Shame i can’t find Angelsey or Donny on there, we are unlikely to be doing the next Exiges day at Suzuka
