Which 260 map do you all think you have? Exige?
I have a 2-11 260 map for a pre 2008 2-11 that was brought out for the racers when the 2008 2-11/260 came out.
Its mapped to run without a post cat lambda and is intended for circuit use. Once the car is up and running I will do some AFR tests of my own and post here!!
Well my car was delivered on 1st March 2010 so I would assume I have a relatively recent map.
When did all the CN’s 260 flashes get done for JFK, Boothy & Marky S2 ? That might give us more of a clue
Apparently there is a ‘newer’ map that was brought out to cure cutting out under coasting for the US spec cars
Do any of you CN mapped guys have this unique feature ???
Boothy = early Jan 2010
Mine = 15 March 2010
Mark = late Feb 2011
Ahhh - the plot thickens - so Mark’s car has probably got the latest map which may be the US spec one. You and Boothy probably have the same map as me.
Anyone know if the dealers can upload the latest software or is it a back to Lotus special ???
Mine is the same as Dave’s from seriously Lotus and is an early 260 map.
Johns was one of the first cars flashed at the factory for CN’s and Marks was done two weeks ago. Marks opened a can of whoop ass on both of our cars and did not look like it was running the same map.
It ran richer, the AFR line looked smoother and it had 255bhp at the hubs running just a forge IC and a TRD airbox.
Lipscomb bought my 260 ECU a couple of months ago.
When the car was serviced last year at a main dealer(Frost’s), they interrogated the ECU and patch downloaded any new software specific for that car.
I suspect that dealers can add 260 specific patches to 260 ECUs, but would be interested to find out?
I had my 240pp to 260 upgrade done at lotus sport. It was a re-flash rather than a replacement ECU (plus the bigger fuel pump). The work was done in Dec 2009. Since then the car has done cira 6000 miles including 3 x track days.
No issues to report, but then again it hasn’t been run on a dyno either…
Exactly why us 3 are getting cn,s to check our maps against each other and liase with the factory …
My car’s booked in @ CN’s for some warranty work and Paul has said he will check the software map on my car - I’ll post up after the visit on the 18th
Had a good long chat with Wayne @ Essex yesterday - really want to get to the bottom of this potential issue.
Think I’m going to get the car dyno’d and check the map and make a decision from there.
Minimum looks like a map & 550 injectors for pure safety and if I want more power the manifold, decat and chargecooler
The minimum looks like a sensible precaution at this point - I’ll see how the dynoing goes - watch this space
I know what you mean about Anglesey! I’m provisionally booked, but will be only going if I get the car back in time with the new and improved gearbox - need to get another fuel pump in and the blade arbs slapped on before it goes near a track this year.
Well 2 and a half months have passed now and all is great with the car.
I though I’d update anyone who has followed this thread.
It is apparent that Blacktoy is still harping on about detonation on another thread…just because his car (when he owned an Exige) did detonate… he didn’t have a Lotus 260 map so I can’t see the relevance of him posting here or on any other 260/2bular thread …
