Better exhaust system

I had to change my own made exhaust system because of noise regulations at the tracks here in Sweden 95 db at 5000 rpm.

Found a system on Elise Parts High Flow Sports Exhaust
S1 and Exige + Full Stainless Steel Silenced Cat replacement pipe.

Does anyone know how much more noise than the stock exhaust system (that feels like crap) this system makes?

Cheers!

Wow! 95db at 5Krom sounds severe!

I hope you’re refering to the silenced CRP instead of the straight through, although I’m not sure if it will keep you under 95db.
Heck, I’m not sure the stock system is 95db at 5Krpm!

Tell me about it! sight

The cars registration paper says:
97 db standing still and 74 db drive by with stock system. I hope thats true! Will let you guys know because stock system is used on saturday at another track with the same regulations

My Larini did 93.5dB (before it sooted up, so could even be less now!). Although noise test results are always very variable and unreliable. I have a Motobuild Silenced Cat-Replacement Pipe on it (which aren’t great to be honest).

The Edwards exhaust and SCRP would be another option if you were trying to achieve 95.

Where can I buy these?

http://www.larinisystems.com/ or perhaps http://www.moto-build.com

Or for the Edwards - http://www.lotuspower.co.uk/

Thanks!

I was looking at the Edwards silencer the other day on an S1 Exige. The silencer looked very small and didn’t appear to be repackable. Is this the latest model or is there another version on the go?

I understood it is like the Larini and has no packing (hence doesn’t need to be). I don’t mind giving up a bit of free-flow for low noise and not having to worry if I need to re-pack before the next trackday.
