it is best to buy now and hopefully get a good price or wait til summer, when there are more than likely to be more cars for sale.

NOW! If anything you’re already too late. People sell at the end of the trackday season and over the winter when they haven’t used the car for a while, so more supply and less demand drives the price down. There’s more demand at the beginning of the trackday season (and less supply) so the price rises slightly.
Here endth the economics lesson, but it’s most definately born true in the last few years.
