…having regretted selling my old exige I have now bought a 51 plate chrome orange car. reg. will be L7TOS. Its off to Bell and Colville for a bit of TLC. You may recall I was umming and ahing about the red car (but it was withdawn from sale) and the supercharged car (decided it was too risky). Is orange the best colour or the worst…what do you think.
(although perhaps makes less sense day-to-day on the road).
Umm, tend to disagree there Ian. Orange & yellow Exiges (& Elises & Lambos ) really stand out on the open road, so reducing the risk of being hit by other traffic. This in fact contrasts with titanium, gunmetal & quartz coloured cars (colours which I do really like too), & if I had one of those I would always drive with my sidelights on
My comment was based on aesthetics more than practicality.
Whenever I see an orange Exige on road I always wonder how it would look with RAC stickers on the side (there’s a Photoshop project). Whenever I see an orange one on the track I think how good it would look with racing numbers on.
My old one was Nautilus blue…should never have sold it.
This one was a Lotus management car and then was bought by the MD of a vauxhall dealership as his company car!! Its a late late car (reg. 18.12.01) and its chassis number 500ish. because its so late build its got air con (pain really) but its only done 6000 miles and its a minter. I paid 22250 against an ask of 24000, so i’m well pleased. Incidentally, residuals on these cars are amazingly strong!!
As for the S2, well, as scotty famously never said “its an exige Jim, but not as we know it…”
Hope to meet you guys soon. I also have to admit to having a bit of an Esprit habit, but thats another story…
