Just put on my new performance friction pads (thanks Damon, still no invoice?) and was wondering the best way to bed them in ready for Friday?
Just put new discs on, so will be doing something similar,
when the rain stops
Follow the procedure shown for prevention www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_warped_brakedisk.shtml
about halfway down the page.
Ade,
Performance Friction pads don’t really need bedding in. Just go out and hammer the crap out of it and all will be well!
Sean…
That’s the kind of advice I like
They just feel a bit weird at present, the old RS14’s had a very strong initial bite which I have now lost, I hope it comes back with some vigarous use…
It should come Ade, I have used PF01’s for years now and they are great. They do take a bit of warming up to get to their best, but once there, they are the best pad I have ever used.

Sounds good the RS14’s did bug a bit when cold as they would try to throw you thru the screen, then go off and squeel till they were hot, then they were great. I prefer a bad pedal when cold that gets progessivly better as you get heat in it’s easier to manage.

How are they for road use? Obviously, they’ll need a few dabs on the brake pedal as you set off (I do that with SBS pads anyway), but how about, for example, motorway use? Cheers, bud.
They are fine, they do squeal a little when cold, but their braking effiniency is very good for road / motorway driving and they just get better and better the warmer they get.
As far as bedding in goes, they are sold as endurance pads to be changed mid race, so it even says on the box “race ready”.
They last for ages aswell. My rears are on their second year and I change the fronts at the end of every season.
AP disks last about the same amount of time as the pads.
Thanks Sean
