Anyone have a view on the Elise parts baffled sump vs the moroso ? Cheers
Also seen Dave does one… thoughts on that also ?
I have the Moroso - it’s a thing of beauty! But then, they all look very good and function very similarly from what I understand?
I’ve got the EP one and though I can’t comment on it Vs the others.
It’s fine though, internal bits seem “safe” (I’m always weary of fixings that can come loose due to being two complex.
I won’t name names, but someone does market “OEM sumps with welded in baffle plates” for cheaper than the others. Avoid that, I had one on my Elise and in hindsight it was just a 1zz sump(for more than it would cost over the Toyota parts desk). The 1zz had it’s windage tray in the sump and the 2zz had it attached to the block, so all you’re actually doing is stacking two windage trays on top of each other which is proven to slow down oil return rate.
Oh, that Elise also blew an engine up on track after I sold it but there’s not enough science to say whether the sump was a factor …
Had moroso and accusump on mine and still did the big end. That’s why I went to dry sump setup.
I tried a lot of baffled sumps and then had pro-alloy make mine with all the ideas i liked from the ones i had seen/tried. Tom at datum helped with development
