Frank, i know you guys over there dont like changing gear, but jesus dude your car screams out for a close ratio gearbox. I know you will come back with “I have a zillion lb/ft of torque from 3rpm to the red line” but it would come alive with a close ratio box matey!!!

Dude I have to be careful because it will spin the tires [slicks] in third gear at 80 mph…a close ratio gearbox will keep me in the spin range the entire time… 
The road is really rough and dusty since there are very few cars on this stretch…
Hell I drove 40 mi. and not one other car on my side of the road and only three on the opposite side…
I did hit 140 mph in a few spots with 80 mph in most sections.
Ya gotta come over and thake the 3 hr. tour… 
I agree with Sean…closer ratios would make the car more intersting, but can see your point.
Have you thought about a standalone ecu such as the Syvecs, which includes traction control, switchable maps and a boatload of engine safety features(same as Randy uses in his Europa)?
I run an AEM standalone ecu which works perfectly and has more features than the Syvecs… I run dual fuel sequential injection which is boost dependent, this produces 680 whp with 91 octane and alochol which gives me 27 mpg at 70 mph… No one with any Lotus uses such a system…I have switchable maps also.
Traction control is for school girls…and close ratios are for those without torque…
