Despite the hours of effort put into building my last car I sold kermit to change it for something more competitive in the open 2000cc class.
On paper that meant I was going to buy an S1 of course. At new year year I had an excellent offer of an S1 race car in a motorsport body from one of our esteemed members on here. My only hesitation was that it would loose some of the all-round flexibility I had with the S2 for the occasional road trip.
Then I saw IT. In my view, everything that an S2 Exige should have been. It’s an S2 Elise (lightweight) with an S2 Exige body and an NA Honda . So it’s about 100kg lighter than an S2 exige with 40 more bhp and 30lbft more torque. NA Rocks
Once again it has exiges.com heritage as it was marcp’s old rolling shell that has been fitted with a Honda with JDM cams. After a quick chat with Marc about the history I called up the seller and bought it.
The only crazy thing is that I havent driven it yet. Through no fault of the previous owner it developed an ECU fault days before I collected it. It’s taken 4 weeks to get it fixed. He sent it to Hoffmans twice who couldn’t fix it. Ironically it was TDi North that diagnosed and fixed it, i never realised they’re only 3 miles from my house! The car arrived on Monday night and since then both myself and the kids have been out of action sick (oh how our priorities change!) so it’s parked in the garage. I’d rather not turn the seats brown unnecessarily
Looking forward to the weekend to test it
