Does someone know if there where normal B4BP gearbox cases with UCR ratio gear sets in it?
I am wondering because they told me when i bought the car that there was a UCR gearbox in it.
On the gearbox plate is printed B4BP but the Exige is doing 4500 RPM when driving (120km/u)74.56mph,is this the UCR gear ratio or just the factory CR box?What RPM does you S1 running when doing 74.56 mph?
Greetz
A small number of 340r’s had UCR gearbox’s from new.
75mph would be somewhere between 3500 and 4000rpm in 5th with the standard (CR) gearbox
Mine is doing 4500RPM at 75 Mph.
Is there someone more that can confirm there rpm at 75 mph?
I am considering a normal gearbox so that the ride on the highway is a little bit better.
B4BP in 5th gear as follows -
2.5k =50mph
3.0k =60mph
3.5k =70mph
4.0k =80mph
4.5k =90mph
5.0k =100mph
Sounds like you have the ucr ratios.
It maybe more in your favour to sell the ucr as a whole and buy a b4bp rather than refurb the ucr. Pretty sure the ucr’s fetch good money to the right person…
As told i think on the sticker is printer B4BPU and on the gearbox housing stands C/R 5.08,see photo.Iam a little confused adout what kind of gearbox i Have…
Obviously very dodgy, Ill give you £25 for it…
I bid 26. …
Sounds like you are a lucky with the box fun to drive, except highway then but who cares.
I want to change the gearbox to a normal CR box.
Then i will keep the UCR to see how it drives with the CR box and maybe if someone is looking for a UCR i will think about selling…
I think ive sorted it out.
I’ve calculated how much RPM the engine does at 120km/h with normal B4BP gearbox,with a final drive ratio of 4.200,it is 3600RPM,if i got it right.
On my gearbox is stamped CR 5.08,when i calculate with the normal gear ratios but with a final drive of 5.08,my calculation tells me that my car is running 120km/h with 4400RPM what corresponds to the RPM i am reading on my stack when traveling 120km/h.
I am gonna search a B4BP to change this next summer,and we will see waht suits the best.
